In this course, we will primarily focus on the findings and research of two books: The Conversation: How Seeking and Speaking the Truth About Racism Can Radically Transform Individuals and Organizations by psychologist Robert Livingston PhD and Jungian Reflections on Systemic Racism: Members of an American Psychoanalytic Community on Training, Practice, and Inclusivity, edited by Christopher Carter PhD and Tiffany Houck LCSW.

Some of our discussion will use Jungian terms like “archetype” and “complex,” but no familiarity with Jungian psychology is necessary.
We will also discuss how to apply the Skill of Real Dialogue in difficult conversations about racism.
